"Love your neighbour as yourself"
We are a grassroots non-profit organisation with a mission to support our community. We are all about bringing people together to achieve more and make a difference to those on our doorstep.
Our mission
Who is my neighbour?
As a non-profit with a Christian ethos, our community projects are focussed around how we can show love and support to our neighbours. and follow the example that Jesus set as a servant King. But, who is our neighbour?
Jesus tells the parable of the Good Samaritan to encourage us to think about how we treat others, including those who come from a different background or belief than ourselves. We believe that the example He gives teaches us to be a neighbour to anyone in need. That’s why at The Neighbour Network our mission is to come together to make a positive impact on those around us.
Our projects take many forms, addressing anything from practical support needs to giving people a place to belong within the community. It’s all about coming together to achieve more and make a difference to those on our doorstep.
OUR FLAGSHIP PROJECT
"Equipping families to cook healthy meals on a low budget."
We believe that every household should be able to cook with confidence on a budget, never having to choose between ‘heating and eating’. Our recipe boxes give families the skills and confidence to cook from scratch on a tight budget.
Community spaces
Community is at our core, which is why we facilitate two community spaces a week. These are great places to come and build new friendships.
The Break Room
Mondays and Thursdays, 12-2pm
We understand that it can be difficult to have a conversation while keeping an eye on children, so these little pockets of time are just for grown-ups to have a cuppa and a chat, and get to know your neighbours.
The Rosemary Graham Centre, Somner Walk, Park Wood
Let's Play!
Thursdays, 2.30-4.30pm
A space for all ages, including families with children, to play and enjoy family activities. We have different crafts each week run by our brilliant volunteers. Everyone’s welcome!
