Our projects

Everything we do is community-led, by local people for local people. We love a team effort and welcome any ideas about how we can be better neighbours to each other. Read about our current projects below…

Equipping households to cook healthy meals from scratch on a budget

Ever felt that decision fatigue about what to cook for dinner every single night? Now add in figuring out what to cook with hardly anything in the cupboards, or at the end of the month when money is tight. Takeaways are appealing but not friendly to the bank balance or body! Our family-friendly recipe boxes were designed by our own families to solve all of those problems at once; providing a series of recipe kits to cook over 30 different meals, which can be replicated for less than £3 per person.

Where to find us

Our activities take place around Park Wood, Maidstone. Full addresses can be found in the details of each activity – or get in touch with our team to check details!

FAQs

Is there parking?

Yes! There is free street parking around both of our community space venues, which is accessible for anyone.

Yes, both of the venues we use have disabled access for wheelchairs or mobility scooters, as well as disabled toilet facilities.

Due to being venue-hirers rather than owners of the premises, we kindly ask that dogs are not brought to the venues, to be respectful of other venue hirers who may have allergies.

We try to keep our spaces open year-round so that they can be accesed regularly by our community. Occasionally we have to close during school holidays depending on our volunteers’ availability, or if the venues need the space for other things such as polling stations, but these closures are advertised via our social media pages.

Nothing; our community spaces are free to all and we never want finances to create a barrier for anyone to come and spend time in them. We are always happy to receive donations, however, as these cover the costs of our refreshments, staff time to facilitate the spaces, and resources for activities such as crafts at Let’s Play. Donations can be made in person or online if ever you feel you would like to contribute.
